'Modern Cryptanalysis' is essentially how to break modern cryptographic algorithms such as block ciphers, stream ciphers, hashes and public key cryptography. On the whole, these alogrithms are very secure (otherwise they would not be used), but we can practice on weakened versions of the algorithms in most cases.

The methods used to break block ciphers , stream ciphers, hashes and public key cryptography systems do not overlap very much. For this reason there is a different section on breaking each type of system.
